1 dead after train crashes into dump truck in Humphreys County

WAVERLY, Tenn. (WSMV) - The Humphreys County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a deadly crash involving a train and a dump truck on Monday.

At some point after noon, a dump truck was hit by a train near Highway 70, the sheriff’s office confirmed to WSMV4.

The dump truck was leaving its place of business on a private drive and pulled out in front of the train. HCSO reports that the driver of the dump truck died in the crash.

The accident occurred next to Highway 70 at the intersection of Scepter Road and Sawmill Lane.
